Jordan Bonner Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

2018 Mar 2

Junior guard Jordan Bonner of the Wesleyan men's basketball team has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District First Team selection for his combined performance on the court and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in March.

Bonner is enjoying an incredible junior season in which he has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week twice. A psychology major with a 3.58 GPA, Bonner leads the team in scoring with 15.2 points per game, which also ranks ninth-best in the NESCAC. He currently leads the league in free-throw shooting with a mark of 84.5-percent, and his 59 three-pointers are fifth-most in the conference. Bonner helped guide the Cardinals to their second NESCAC Final appearance in program history and their third NCAA Tournament in the past four seasons. Wesleyan earned an at-large bid for the second year in a row with a 21-6 overall record-the team's 21 wins are a program record.
