Henry Stanton of Men's Lacrosse Team Named to USILA Player of the Year Watch List

2018 Feb 19

Senior Henry Stanton of the men's lacrosse team has been named to the first-ever United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Player of the Year Watch List. He is among just 12 players in the country to be placed on the list.

The Cardinals are coming off a historic 2017 season in which the team racked up numerous postseason accolades. Stanton was named a First Team All-American by USILA/Nike as a junior after receiving Honorable Mention his sophomore season. Last year, the New Canaan, Conn. native set a single-season program record with 86 goals. He also dished out 29 assists for a total of 115 points, while picking up 66 ground balls. He ranked fifth in Division III in goals per game (3.91), 14th in points per game (5.23), and 17th in man-up goals (10). The NESCAC leader in points and goals for roughly the entire 2017 season, Stanton also earned First Team All-NESCAC praise and First Team All-New England honors last year. He currently ranks tied for third on Wesleyan's all-time scoring list with 217 career points (164 goals, 53 assists).
